On our first day in Manchester, June 8, I was pleased to hand over the floral symbol to the elders of the Manchester Quakers a peace-loving Christian congregation that originated in England in the 17thcentury. They were hosting the CND symbol that day in the park in front of their community house across the street from Town Hall and the city’s majestic Central Library.
